Jocelyn Laferriere is the founder of The Belden Witch and The Hollow, sister spaces rooted in ritual, herbalism, and the art of gathering. Based in the mountain town of Minturn, Colorado, her work weaves together plant medicine, yoga, sound, and seasonal living to create experiences that are both grounding and transformative.
As a community herbalist, cacao facilitator, ritualist, and 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500), Jocelyn draws from a rich tapestry of traditions—blending Western herbalism with elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, and European folk practices. Her approach is intuitive yet practical, honoring both the energetic and physiological dimensions of healing.
Through her apothecary, she formulates small-batch herbal remedies with a focus on quality, integrity, and connection to the land. Through her teaching, she creates spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and engage in meaningful ritual—whether through a cup of tea, a breath, a yoga class or a shared moment in circle.
Jocelyn’s work is rooted in the belief that healing does not have to be complicated—it can be found by returning to the rhythms of nature, in the wisdom of plants, and in the act of coming back to oneself.
Who We Are
All of this started over a decade ago when we were living on the coast of Massachusetts & Rhode Island. Finding a little herb farm & garden shop that sold loose herbs and teas. It fastly became our favorite place to treat ourselves and peruse the shelves of jars, herbs, oils & roots. What a dream! We started experimenting, studying and crafting our own salves, bath products and teas. Fast forward a few years later until we found ourselves living just under 8,000 ft elevation in the Colorado Rockies in a sweet little 400 sq ft A-frame cabin. We had bartended professionally for years, private catered in mega mansions, for high profile weddings and events. We managed a sweet little Bed & Breakfast from doing all the reservations, marketing and even all the cooking. We loved it all, but we were ready for something bigger, something more meaningful & something authentic to us. We had always been making our healing salves and elixirs in the background and giving them to friends and family as gifts. We started making those same salves, teas and healing remedies and selling them at farmers markets. With big encouragement from one of our dearest friends, one summer market turned into multiple, which turned into full summer market seasons, that turned into double booth spaces and pop up shops around the Vail Valley. That sweet little A-frame held us in such growth, nourishment and safety. We eventually expanded so much we opened our little apothecary shop in Minturn in 2023.
